My Birthday Surprise by My Friends =D

It's really a very nice experience having some of your friends throwing a birthday surprise at you without you having even a single clue about it. They've planned it so elaborately until I don't even notice it. It was after my 8 to 10am lecture today. I thought that it's just another normal day because my birthday isn't today but it's on the 14th of April which is this Saturday. After the first morning class at 10am, we were called to the discussion room at out IT department by our lecturer to discuss our transfer to another project which we're assigned to Proton.

After the discussion, my project team (Me, Daniel, Kevin, and Wei Yiaw) was just sitting in the discussion room because Daniel said he had to call Boon Yean to come so that we could get some project tips from her since she's our senior by 1 term. Later, Daniel said that Boon Yean just arrived and we're going to meet up with her in Room 109. So, I innocently followed him, Kevin, and Wei Yiaw to Room 109 without having a single clue that the whole "We need to get tips from Boon Yean" thing was false. When we've reached room 109, I could see from the outside that there was no one in the room because it was dark.

I just thought that she had not arrived yet, but Daniel asked me to just go in and wait for her. But once I've stepped in, there was this two candles at the left of me and suddenly there was a chorus of "Happy Birthday" and everyone came into sight, the same group of friends who celebrated Elvis's and Ming Yan's birthday. I was really surprise and touch by their sincerity, because it wasn't even my 21st birthday but they'd still celebrate it.

I'll never forget my moments in college and it's certainly true that college life is the best experience a person could ever have even sometimes there are some ups and downs. Today is certainly a day which I'll not forget, and certainly this group of friends will always remain in my memory. They've got my favourite cake figured out, which is Black Forest and Daniel, Kevin, Wei Yiaw, and Kenn even bought a T-Shirt from Romp for me, and Yan Yan, Boon Yean, and See Tieng for the cake. Although I do not know who paid for all this, but I'm truly greatful to all of them (The Guys: Daniel, Kevin, Wei Yiaw, Elvis, Kenn, Khye, In Ming; And The Girls: Yan Yan, Boon Yean, and See Tieng) Sorry if I've mispelled a few names, but I just wanna thank you all for everything that you've all done today for me. Thanks =D !!

It's CNY, Cheers!!

26th February, 2007.

Wow, had a great time today, although it's not so great from the cash point of view. Right after class at 12pm, me and 4 other friends went for lunch near our college. They told me during class that they're planning to visit 2 of our friend's house or as the chinese says 'Pai Lin'. We first went to Yan Yan's house which is at SS2. We played Black Jack for an hour or so till 2. When I entered the house, the first thing I saw on the table was a stack of cards and a stack of RM1 bills. Lol, guess she was really ready to play. Each of us took turn to become the banker, and it seems that the luck's with Yan Yan. Genting would love her if she's working for them at the casino, lol. I'd gotton '5 Loong' once, and got double pay, and 1 or 2 '1 love', but no matter what I get, I still lost to her terribly.

The bravest banker was Wei Yiaw and Ming Yan who even though just got 16 points, they went ahead to open our cards. The 2 new bankers of the day was me and Daniel. Overall, in Yan Yan's house, Yan Yan and Ming Yan won quite a lot of money. We then went to Boon Yean's house. As usual, we greet their parents, which in this case, we just met Yan Yan's mom and Boon Yean's mom. Again we played Black Jack, and well, this time, my luck's not as bad as it was in Yan Yan's house. Maybe it's because I sat facing the place where they honour the Gods.

This time, only Ming Yan became the banker for the whole game. He lost quite a lot at first, because some of us got more points than him. I even got another '5 Loong' if not mistaken, not only me, even some of us got it. There was a lot of '1 Love' too. I remember a round where I had to use the washroom, but I asked them to go on and give my share of the cards as usual. Once I got back from the washroom, and when I straight away open my card, I got '1 Love'. It was really funny. Wei Yiaw said that he has to try visiting the washroom too, lol. Yan Yan took over the position as banker later part of the game, because Ming Yan won quite a lot already and it's also because he won when he asked us all to play 3 cards. When Yan Yan took over his place as banker, it was even worst, lol. She had quite a few '1 Love' and had 1 time '5 Loong'.

We had to play her double for each time she got '1 Love' and '5 Loong'. Anyway, it's only once a year, and It's also the first time I ever gamble. Overall, it's a really fun day and most importantly is that we all feel the fun and togetherness. We didn't quite visited all of our friend's house as it was first suggested, because 1 of our friend's parent's not home. So, we might drop by his house tomorrow after lunch. Happy Chinese New Year to all. Ciao!!

Friends Forever..

Sunday, 18th February 2007.

Last night was Chinese New Year's eve. By 10pm onwards, sms greetings started flooding in by family and friends, but one particular friend sent a sms quite late. It was 3.45am, I was sleeping when a sms came in and woke me up (no, I do not turn off my phone, period!). It was from my secondary school friend whom I haven't met in years!! (Well, at least there's 2 years.. I think..). I wrote him a testimonial last week, scolding him for not keeping in touch with me. So, last night or rather, very early this morning (3.45am), he sent me a message saying that it's been a long time since we last met, and he missed the old times. Well.. I replied to him that I missed the old times too and couldn't believe it's been 3 years already since we left our secondary school life behind.. Those tough yet fun-filled adolescence times..

Although we once wished that we graduate from secondary school A.S.A.P, but once we're outta it, we realize that it was that time where we were the most carefree compare to college. Those time where we find ways to hide when we didn't wear our name tags, badges, or our lencana sesi pagi. Sometimes, we hide in empty classrooms because we didn't felt like attending Monday assembly, but were spotted by prefects, I still remember we made an excuse that we need to use the washroom first, hoping the prefect will not follow. Sometimes we just walk away as though we didn't hear the prefect calling and ran for it. Too much memories, too lazy to write it down, lol. If my secondary school friends are reading this, they'll remember those times too, unforgettable moments I would call it.

It was the time where friends were the most true and closest. In college, you could practically use math to calculate your amount of friends. Friends = You(Popularity + Nice Car + Latest Styles). Well.. that does not apply to some people though, take me for example, I'm blessed with understanding and supportive friends. They are the few friend which are left since secondary and the ones I newly made when I started college. They know some of my most deepest secrets, they are my 3 closest of friends. Sad to say.. Some of my friends does not really know me well. I used to have another close friend, since childhood, but he went to another school after SPM for form 6. He used to be my only close friend.. but time can sometimes be cruel if you do not take the appropriate measures. However, I'm feeling that the gap between one of my 3 closest friends are starting to grow. We use to chat till late at the night for a few hours, just chatting practically about anything! Girls, music, movies, old times, future plans, heart troubles, dilemmas, gossips. Lol, practically anything.

I still remember that we swore upon graduating from secondary 5, that we all would remain friends forever. Hey, at least officially speaking, we're all still friends, but just ain't as close as before.. Sad though.. It's something about me that I treasure friends a lot, because I feel that true friends are hard to find, and even harder to maintain. Well.. whoever are my friends, will always be my friend. No matter whether we've argued before, broke up before (for girls), or had a fight before. Once a friend, always a friend, because that bond was once created. Cheers to friendship!!

A Lonely Valentine..

Thursday, 15th February 2007.

I couldn't understand how could I even have the courage to write my thoughts here in my blog for people to read (hoped that I had this much courage when I'm among girls.. Lol!!). Well, for most of you, or rather, for most of the people out there had a great time celebrating valentine's yesterday. No matter long distance or face to face, these people who celebrated valentine's surely had a better day than I do. Well.. I really dont wanna talk (or write) about this, but I have my own best interest in heart. Therefore, I decided that I'll feel better if I wrote it out.

I met my ex again yesterday (I thought she might not show up) together with a few of my friends. Felt awkward though I've countlessly told myself to act normal and just treat her as a normal friend. I even told her that we're still friends, but I just dunno why I couldn't make myself talk to her.. I just can't do it. I really felt sorry for not giving her any response or reply when she tried to talked to me (not sure whether did she even tried..), but the main point is, I still felt hurt and at the same time, sorry. I really wanted to apologise to her for avoiding her in such an obvious way. During lunch time, she offered to buy drinks for me and my friends, by the time she asked whether do I want any drinks.. I just pretend to continue eating my lunch and shook my head. I mean, what the heck!! I suppose to be forgiving and there I am, giving her the silent treatment and cold shoulders. I'm so useless sometimes..

I feel so very wrong when I got back to my house and thought of the day's event. I felt so that I'm so "siu hei", I felt that I'm worst than a girl or rather a small kid. I just can't describe how sorry I felt.. How wrong I felt.. She's a girl and i'm a guy.. and guys are suppose to care for the girls, to something like, give them whatever they want.. to admit wrong even if we know that the girls are wrong.. but.. My gosh!! What did I do.. After the meeting.. I just went home and drowned myself in songs.

Yea.. I know I shouldn't be so down.. I shouldn't be so gloomy and I'll bet that most of you will say that there's plenty more girls out there, and there'll be one meant for each of us.. But sometimes.. we can't control 100% our emotions.. Have you ever felt when you love someone so much, you'll swear that that person's the one you're meant to devote to forever? Well.. I could assume that I've found that person, but also maybe it's not.. I do not know for sure.. but I'm sure that the feeling I've had for her was really true.. Anyway, I feel better now that I've wrote it all out.. Happy Valentines to all of the couples out there. Cheers!!

Mending a Broken Heart..

February 9th 2007,

Had a great time yesterday with my group of friends which are in the same course with me in Neway karaoke at 1 Utama. It's Elvis's 21st birthday and we had a blast celebrating it. After our last lecture, me, Daniel, and Yiaw spent a lil' time in the com lab doing and discussing about our assignment. We then walked to Kenn's rented house to wait for birthday boy around 11.45pm (lecture ended early). Elvis's still attending a class. Therefore, me, Daniel, Yiaw, and Kenn played 'Chor Tai Ti' while wating for Elvis. Yiaw was somewhat a bit high while playing. He keeps talking to his hand of cards (guess he had a bit too much of Kungfu Mahjong 3). We were joined later on by Kevin and then Elvis himself. The girls called and we're off to meet them at our college's entrace (it's just next door actually). We then had to decide where to have our lunch (for those who hadn't had it yet) and whose's car to drive (5 cars in total). So we just ended up driving 3 cars.

First stop was Euro Deli, for lunch (only drinks for those who've ate earlier on). We then drove straight off to 1U. The girls had to fetch Ming Yan back to college for a while bcoz he had to pass up his tutorial, so the rest of us went straight to 1U. Me, Daniel and Kevin's in the same car, while Yiaw, Kenn, Elvis, and Khye's in another car. Found a nice parking spot at the new wing's basement parking (near the entrance). We went straight up to 5th floor to wait for the rest of them (Yiaw and the guys). Waited quite a while before they showed up. While Yiaw, Kenn, and Khye was busy doing the checking in procedures, me, Daniel, Kevin, and Elvis was busy snapping picture of ourselves (with the help of a wall mirror, we managed a nice pose =P). We went into the room first while waiting for the girls to come, bcoz they had to collect the cake too (which was damn huge!! and it costs 90 bucks!!).

The karaoke was alright and cheap (bcoz we're students which means the session's free but the peanut's damn expensive!! 8 bucks per person for 6 bowl of nuts!! It's nuts!!). We started with "God Is A Girl" by Groove Coverage as a warm up, then the girls arrives. Sang a few Chinese songs (Me, Daniel, and Kevin are 'bananas', so we didn't sang much of the chinese songs but I sang "Kuet Jin Yee Sai Jo" by Justin Lo bcoz I memorized the lyrics by heart, and Daniel also sang a mandarin song). Most of the songs we picked are all by Hong Kong artists such as Jolin, Tank and so on. Also a few by Taiwan artists such as Jay Chou.

We started singing around 2pm and disbanded at 6pm. By the late part of the session, we all sang oldies by Jacky Cheung, Westlife, Backstreet Boys, Micheal Buble, M2M, and some other Hong Kong and English artists which I've very much forgotten their names. I particularly like the song "The Day You Went Away" by M2M, it was very emotional. Anyway, the day was fun and hard to describe the fun by words. Especially the part where Elvis tried to take out the candle (which as purposely stucked deep inside the cake) from cake with his mouth, we all tried to splatter his face with cake by pushing his face into it!! Lol, he got some icing on and in his nose, as well as his chin and forehead. While Elvis tries to get the cake out of his face in the bathroom, we sliced a really huge slice of cake for him (He's the birthday boy after all). Like I've said, the cake's really huge, and each of us got quite a large portion too. Some of us cant even stuff it all down.

Elvis took pictures with each of us and we had a few funny group pics. It was a very fun and unfiorgettable day. College life's actually full of fun and laughter if you know how to handle it. Socializing with the right people's good and harmless but do not mix with the wrong people. It's a community service message by me =P, lol. Will uplaod the group picture soon enough. Ciao all.
